Imagine a world where all children grow up in a safe and healthy environment
Kenyan Kids, committed to providing security and a stable environment to children in distress
When Julie first visited Kenya in March 2010, her objective was to open the eyes of her teenaged children to the harshness of life in a third world country.
It was during that first visit, while attending a community meeting on one of the rubbish tips, handing out bread and tea to the hungry and homeless, that a small, urine-soaked, child climbed onto her knee and proceeded to fall asleep.
From that simple demonstration of absolute trust, there was no turning back and Julie became determined to help the children of Kisumu in whatever way she could..

Kenyan Kids and what we do
Child protection
Familia is the name of the rescue centre that we inaugurated in March 2014. Today we shelter, nourish and educate eleven girls all of whom have come from extremely vulnerable backgrounds. Poverty alone is never the reason we ‘rescue’ these children - physical or sexual abuse, trafficking, early marriage and/or the possibility of female circumcision - when no one else can step in for them, we do.
Education
Imagine, the only thing you want in the whole world is to go to school. That’s not a statement any western child would ever utter. With so many children missing out on school, we ensure the neediest and sometimes the brightest children can be supported. Maxwell was living on the street when we found him.
Self sufficiency
How would you feel to help a child to leave the streets and then help that child to become a Doctor who goes on to save countless lives? Or perhaps a teacher who goes on to motivate a child to be the best they can become. €20 per month will help train a child to become a doctor. How many lives might that impact?
